Product description
The collective monograph Walking as Embodied Worldmaking explores walking as a cultural practice and embodied experience. The individual contributions of the participating authors examine the interconnections of bodies, cognition, places, affects and other materialities through phenomenological, artistic and methodological approaches. Walking is presented as a relational practice rooted in specific places; it connects various cultural practices, has a material-semiotic character, and constitutes a performative act of interweaving (geopolitical) territories and borders. By bringing together textual and visual materials and contributions from researchers across the social sciences, humanities and the arts, it offers a diverse and multi-layered perspective on the phenomenon of walking.
