František Crhák’s publication attempts to connect seemingly incompatible fields - mathematical geometry and art. The author has approached the subject of geometry in such a way that it becomes a tool for artistic creation for designers, multimedia communications professionals, architects and students of these disciplines. Artistic Geometry Plus is his free-form, drawing- and text-based conception of geometry. His fascination with this discipline permeated his entire life, as he spent more than forty years teaching designers and, as a designer himself, influenced the appearance of numerous everyday objects. In Crhák’s interpretation, geometry became a tool for playful experimentation with form in both two-dimensional and three-dimensional dimensions. The book is intended primarily for designers, architects, teachers and students, but also for artists, mathematicians and all playful and creative people with technical or artistic interests.
