Product description

The Verilog language is becoming increasingly widespread worldwide, and the extended version, SystemVerilog, is currently gaining ground, being particularly advantageous for large-scale designs. In practice, digital system designers frequently encounter source code written in Verilog and should be able to take over, understand and adapt this code to their own needs. It is therefore reasonable to expect that designers will welcome a handbook that can also serve as a textbook on the Verilog language and as a guide to writing source code for design systems representing synthesizable models of the digital systems being developed. The book is intended for readers who wish to familiarise themselves with the Verilog language and use it for the design of PLD and FPGA programmable logic circuits, and should prepare them for the practical application of these circuits in digital designs. It is also suitable for those interested in ASIC circuits. The emphasis is primarily on synthesis; simulation is covered to the extent necessary for verifying the functionality of such applications. Readers are expected to have a knowledge of digital technology equivalent to that taught in introductory courses at technical universities. A basic understanding of circuit structures and functional blocks used in PLD and FPGA circuits is also useful.
