Product description
What form should a text take within which one may move freely? To dream, to explore, to recall, to narrate. To connect observations, ideas, pauses, and wonder at both the everyday and the extraordinary; to quote theoretical facts and fiction alike. A form within which one moves freely, yet thoughtfully, aware of the unknowability concealed in every step we take. In the book The Use of Woven Text in the Search for Rhythm, the author seeks intellectual reciprocity - a particular sensitivity that is an indispensable part of art understood as a means of lifelong learning: that which acquires meaning at the moment it merges with our lives and, in a certain sense, may remain there forever. She has termed this reciprocity the search for rhythm. In uncovering it, she considers the meanings of remembrance, dreaming, freedom, movement, and change to be of importance. The search for rhythm is understood here as a metaphor for orientation in art/life. The text is written using the method of 'woven text', a term introduced by Daniela Hodrová. The structure of woven text is characterised by repetition, remembrance, network-like association, the development of shared motivic nodes, and the interweaving of reality and dreaming.
The aim of the book is to create a piece of it's own fabric and to retrospectively discover the knots and loops that hold it together.
