The Look of Internalized Machine Gaze

The book summarises the results of an artistic research project in which photographer Barbora Trnková pushes posthumanist ideas into raw, lived reality. Through her own glitch-feminist and intersectional perspective, she focuses on the hidden hegemonies embedded in the meta-programmes of digital technologies, which are currently being accelerated to an almost caricatural degree by the boom in so-called 'artificial intelligence'. Technologies here function as sensors of barely visible power structures that shape our lives and continue to silence voices whose insights we may be missing when imagining a meaningful and sensorially rich future. The book is based on the author's doctoral artistic research, carried out at the Faculty of Fine Arts, BUT.
