Product description

This monograph is a systematic compilation of the results and applications of many years of experience gained through scientific work in the fields of robotics, robotic production systems and technologies by staff from the Institute of Production Machines, Systems and Robotics at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Brno University of Technology. The content of the monograph is divided into thirteen chapters. The reader is gradually introduced to the concept of robots in relation to production machinery and material handling, the design of basic robot components and subsystems, the control of various robotic systems, their control systems and robot programming. The text focuses on current mobile and service robots, intelligent robotic systems of higher generations, and the use of robots in manufacturing processes and complex production systems. Each chapter contains a list of references and recommended reading, which the reader may consult for a more in-depth study of the topics covered. The publication can serve as study material for undergraduate and postgraduate students at technical universities, as well as a source of inspiration for researchers and a resource to support the work of development staff at various companies in the process of developing robotic systems or designing the robotisation of production. The book was awarded the Josef Hlávka Prize in 2017.
