Product description
The aim of this publication is to present the reader with a comprehensive set of theoretical knowledge and practical procedures leading to the unambiguous and optimal design of all magnetic circuits encountered in technical practice. The emphasis is on applications in the fields of power electronics, measurement technology and heavy-current electrical engineering. The types of magnetic circuits discussed include, for example, air-core coils, limiting power reactors, Helmholtz coils, chokes on a ferromagnetic core with an air gap, DC voltage and current sensors, measuring transformers and Rogowski coils. A substantial part of the text deals with detailed designs of all types of switched-mode power supplies, such as single-conversion and double-conversion forward converters, flyback converters, and the design of output LC filters. The theoretical section of the text is written as clearly as possible, with detailed explanations, and can therefore serve not only as a university textbook but also for self-study. The text contains approximately 380 figures, 16 tables and 30 illustrative numerical examples. To bring the text to life, the publication is supplemented with basic biographical details of all the prominent figures mentioned in the text.
