Lungová B. – In Search of Šlapanice Faith

This publication presents the work of Jan Dvořák from Šlapanice in breeding garden chrysanthemums through archival materials from the breeder’s estate, botanical illustrations of preserved varieties, and a record of an exhibition by the authors at the House of Arts in Brno. The book combines a section devoted to the life and work of Jan Dvořák with more general reflections on ornamental plants in the cultural imagination, the botanical ‘turn’ in contemporary art, and the emerging fields of ‘plant humanities’ and ‘critical plant studies’.
