Product description

The prevailing trend in contemporary science appears to be the deepening specialisation of both mono-discipline and interdisciplinary sciences, which, however, leads to a certain fragmentation of science. Less favoured are the systemic and interdisciplinary aspects of science and technology, even though it is precisely a methodologically interdisciplinary perspective that positively influences the quality of problem-solving in individual disciplines. The author systematically explores fourteen predominantly interdisciplinary topics whose conceptualisation he considers inconsistent or vague. These include the issues of systemic methodology, the theory of modelling and the theory of experimentation. Related to these areas is also the issue of errors. The book also includes the "philosophy of technology" and, in line with the current trend towards complexity, selected humanities-oriented topics, such as personality psychology, creativity and cognitive processes. Finally, the book contains interdisciplinary chapters on the statistical processing of data, the fundamentals of deterministic chaos and synergetics. The publication presents concise, systematically organised teaching texts from various fields; it is therefore closer to a compendium than to a monograph for specialists in these fields. It is intended primarily for university students at technical universities who wish to gain a systematic overview of many areas and be professionally adaptable. However, it is intended for anyone with an interest in the world of technology. Sold as a set only (Vol. 1 ISBN: 978-80-214-3545-2, Vol. 2 ISBN: 978-80-214-3546-9, set ISBN: 978-80-214-3544-5).
